Michael D. Brocker, Financial Advisor, Founder and CEO

Mike’s career as a financial advisor spans over 3 decades.  He is the Founder and CEO of Legacy Wealth, a boutique financial services firm focused on serving clients by providing timeless wisdom and counsel for all aspects of their planning, in order to remove the anxiety and uncertainty that so often surrounds financial decisions and replace it with joy and contentment.

Drawing on Mike’s many years of experience, Legacy Wealth has developed both a unique focus on wealth transition planning and a sophisticated values-based approach to asset management.  Mike has acquired expertise in helping his clients not only manage the legacies they have built, but also in helping them transition their wealth to future generations and charitable organizations that are meaningful to them.

Mike has acquired many professional designations throughout his career, which speak to his expertise in planning. These designations include a Master’s Degree in Financial Services, Chartered Financial Consultant, Chartered Life Underwriter, Accredited Estate Planner, Accredited Investment Fiduciary, and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy. He has also accomplished numerous industry achievements, such as his 17-time membership in the prestigious “Top of the Table” in the Million Dollar Round Table, which represents the top half of 1% of advisors in the industry. He has been voted a top Wealth Manager by Five Star Professional for the last five years, is a Qualified Advisor with Kingdom Advisors, and he is a member of multiple industry-affiliated organizations, including M Financial Group. He currently sits on the Member Firm Relations Committee with M Financial Group.

Mike lives in Woodbury, MN with his wife of 32 years, Debbie, their nine children, and five grandchildren. He currently serves in several community- and ministry-oriented capacities as a member of governing boards and councils, including the Bethel University Board of Governors and Board of Trustees and the Hope Academy Board of Directors.

Benjamin M. Brocker, Investment Strategist

Ben has been with Legacy Wealth since 2011.  He attended New Life Academy and went on to graduate from Bethel University in 2010, earning a degree in Business with a Finance emphasis.  He worked with the Minneapolis Financial Group before joining his father at Legacy Wealth, and he received his CFA designation in 2016.

Ben lives in Cottage Grove with his wife, Courtney, and his daughter, Everleigh.  He enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading investment books, golfing, playing cards, and playing fantasy basketball in his spare time.

Matthew M. Brocker, Financial Advisor

Matthew joined Legacy Wealth in 2014. He grew up in Woodbury and currently resides there with his own family. He attended New Life Academy and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bethel University. While there, he earned his B.A. in Business with an emphasis in both Finance and Accounting.

At home, Matt stays busy chasing around his son, Tristan, and daughter, Maisie, who are both under the age of 3.  In his free time Matthew enjoys golfing, racquet sports, snowboarding, and spending time with family.

Joshua M. Brocker, Planning Strategist

Joshua joined Legacy Wealth in 2019. He grew up in Woodbury, attending New Life Academy, and he graduated from Bethel University, St. Paul, in 2017 with a B.A. in Business: Finance and Analytics. He worked at Ameriprise Financial in Minneapolis while earning his CFP® certification before transitioning to Legacy Wealth.

Joshua enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing board games and various sports, such as golf and basketball.  He also enjoys being a part of the church worship team with his wife, Amanda.  They live happily in Oakdale with their dog, Kingsley.

Emily R. Kaufer, Client Relationship Manager

Emily has previously served as an office assistant at Legacy Wealth, and now is our Client Relationship Manager as of 2018. Emily grew up in Woodbury and graduated with her Bachelors degree in Communication Studies from the University of Wisconsin River-Falls. Emily has also obtained her Minnesota Life, Accident, and Health Insurance License.

When Emily is not in the office, she works part time as a dance instructor and choreographer for a local dance studio. She enjoys outdoor activities with her husband, family dinners, and of course playing with her Pomeranian puppies, Rocky and Zeus

Courtney M. Bechel, Investment Services Representative

Courtney grew up in nearby Afton, MN and attended Stillwater High School, graduating from Mankato State University in 2016.  She has grown with Legacy Wealth, moving from Office Assistant to our Investment Services Representative.

When she’s not working, Courtney enjoys spending most of her time outdoors, going up north to the cabin, spending time with friends and family, hiking, and running, always bringing along her Border Collie, Luna, for some additional fun.

Amanda L. Brocker, Financial Planning

Amanda joined Legacy Wealth in 2017.  She grew up in Woodbury and went to New Life Academy, after which she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bethel University in 2016, earning her B.A. in Business with a minor in Media Communications.  She currently holds her Minnesota Life, Accident, and Health insurance licenses, and earned her CFP® mark in 2019.

In her spare time, Amanda enjoys singing, going to the movies and theatre, watching British TV shows, and spending time with her friends, family, and miniature poodle.

Sydney E. Horner, Executive Assistant

Sydney joined Legacy Wealth in 2018. She grew up in Woodbury and went to New Life Academy. Sydney graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Central University in 2017, earning a degree in Marketing.

Sydney lives in Woodbury with her daughter, husband, and her German Shepherd puppy. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, baking, and physical fitness.
